Does 0.25mm actually reach the dermis?
No — and that's intentional. The dermis starts at ~1.5–2mm depth. 0.25mm is precisely calibrated to pierce the stratum corneum (the dead-cell barrier) and reach the viable epidermis — the layer where active ingredients trigger collagen synthesis and cell renewal. It's deep enough to deliver, shallow enough to be pain-free and leave no open wound.
How is PDRN different from regular collagen creams?
Collagen molecules in topical creams are too large to penetrate skin and never reach the dermis — they sit on the surface. PDRN (polynucleotides) are small fragments that penetrate via the micro-channels and bind directly to fibroblast receptors, triggering your skin's own collagen production from within. It's not adding collagen — it's activating the process that makes it.
Why ceramides instead of hyaluronic acid post-session?
Hyaluronic acid is a humectant — it draws moisture to the surface. After micro-needling, the priority is barrier repair, not surface hydration. Ceramides restore the intercellular lipid bilayer that seals the stratum corneum, preventing trans-epidermal water loss and locking in the actives already delivered. The Dual Ceramide Complex does what HA cannot: structural barrier restoration.
Can I use this with retinol or acids?
Avoid retinol, AHAs (glycolic, lactic acid), BHAs (salicylic acid), and vitamin C serums for 24 hours before and after use. Active micro-channels significantly increase penetration of everything — including exfoliants, which can over-stimulate skin when delivered past the barrier. The Dr.Nano serum is formulated to work standalone; adding other actives into open channels raises the risk of irritation.
Why titanium and not surgical stainless steel?
Titanium is harder, lighter, and has a superior strength-to-weight ratio compared to 316L surgical steel. It holds a sharper edge with less material, producing cleaner micro-channels with less skin trauma per puncture. It's also hypoallergenic — zero nickel content, making it safe for sensitive and reactive skin types.
How often should I use it to see results?
2–3 sessions per week is the optimal protocol. Less frequent use underutilises the cumulative collagen response. More frequent use doesn't allow sufficient recovery between sessions. Most users see visible texture and pore changes from week 3–4, with more structural results (scarring, deep lines) emerging at 8–12 weeks.
